Sydney’s Hyde Park was awash with fake blood and torn plastic flesh as 1500 zombies invaded Elizabeth Street to raise money for the Brain Foundation.
Event coordinator and zombie leader Michael Berman has been running the Sydney Zombie walk for the past five years.
“The Brain Foundation is a wonderful, but often overlooked charity. I think the work done by the Brisbane and Sydney Zombie Walks has really helped bring up its profile.” Mr Berman said.
The makeup worn by the Zombie walkers was sophisticated and stunning.
This year’s walk raised $2,064, double the total of last year’s. Mr Berman said it is not so much about the amount raised but more about increasing the awareness of brain cancer:
“We need the community to help out – it’ll be a long and time consuming process and I’m happy just to play a small part in this bigger movement.” – Duane Langley
