Sydney Thunder has brought some experience on their side, bringing in Jacques Kallis for next two Big Bash League seasons.
The 38-year-old South African is arguably the greatest all-rounder this game has ever produced, and will play in the Big Bash League for the first time after playing for Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League. He has scored 3673 runs and taken 95 wickets in 143 T20 matches.
The Sydney Thunder manager Nick Cummins is happy to sign a player of Kallis’ calibre.
“Signing a player of Jacques’ quality and experience is phenomenal news for thunder fans,” he told Cricket Australia.
Kallis says he is excited to play for Thunder. He tweeted earlier, “Looking forward to playing for Sydney Thunder in Big Bash this year. I am sure it gonna be a lot of fun.”
It has also been confirmed that Australia team captain Michael Clarke will be leading Thunder next season. – Md Zahin
