A 17-year-old girl has been arrested after a violent brawl erupted among teenagers in Ambarvale, in south-western Sydney, earlier this week.
The teenager was taken to Campbelltown Police Station where she was charged with affray, assaulting police, and resisting arrest.
A 15-year-old girl was also charged with affray.
Police said a number of weapons including knives, baseball bats and meat cleavers were brought to the scene but were not used.
The pair has been granted conditional bail and will come before the Children’s Court on Monday, February 29.
The NSW Police media release indicated that a total of five teenagers were involved in the brawl while more than 30 teenagers watched the fight.
As further arrests are expected, police are asking any witnesses of the incident to provide information to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. – Jessica Staveley
