West Indies star all-rounder Kieron Pollard (above) has joined Adelaide Strikers and will be playing in the Big Bash League.
The 27-year old right-hander is the fifth and the biggest new signing for the Strikers for BBL04. Mostly known for his destructive batting, Pollard has scored 4725 runs in 222 innings with a strike rate of 153.75.
He is no stranger to the Strikers fans as he played for them in BBL02 and also played for South Australia in 2011-12. In a video message from India, Pollard expressed his excitement about returning to the Strikers and told fans to get ready for loads of sixes.
“It’s a great feeling for me; ever since I played with the Redbacks, I’ve loved the Adelaide Oval. I love the short side boundaries even though I love to hit straight,” he said.
The inclusion of Pollard will give the Strikers some extra depth in their batting line up, especially due to his ability to change the game at any moment with bat and bowl.
