A daylight break and enter on a busy Sydney street has prompted Surry Hills police to send out a safety warning.
Around 2:30pm a car parked outside Taste Baguette on Foveaux Street had its window smashed and a phone stolen off the seat.
The car owner was waiting for a coffee less than 20 meters away from his car when the robbery occurred, a barista from a nearby café saw a man of Aborigional appearance take the phone then run up the Foveaux Street hill.
A police officer from Surry Hills LAC told The Newsroom Sydneysiders can never be too cautious when it comes to protecting their property.
“To be honest this is a trend that is happening often, mostly at nighttime though, so this example in particular is a warning to people not to leave their valuables unattended.”
