The Newsroom recaps round seven of the NFL.
Miami Dolphins create history in win against Houston
The Miami Dolphins created history in their 44-26 victory over the Houston Texans by becoming the first team in NFL history to score four offensive touchdowns before half-time. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill had a near perfect game, completing 18 of 19 passes. Miami led 41-0 at half time but allowed the Texans to reduce the deficit to 17 points in the second half. Houston’s woes were furthered when running back Arian Foster suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in the latter stages of the match.
Seattle gives 49ers a reality check
Australian Jarryd Hayne was dropped by 49ers coach Jim Tomsula for their 20-3 defeat at the hands of the Seattle Seahawks. Quarterback Russell Wilson was in fine form for Seattle which included a 43-yard-pass assist for a Tyler Lockett touchdown. Marshawn Lynch also impressed against San Francisco, scoring a touchdown and making 27 carries for 122 yards.
Tom Brady wins it for the Patriots
Tom Brady was the star of the show in the New England Patriots’ 30-23 victory over the New York Jets. With the score at 20-16 after three quarters, Brady was at his glittering best completing 13 of 16 passes for 135 yards helping his team to victory. The Jets were not going down without a fight, kicking a field goal with 15 seconds left and then miraculously recovering the ball however it turned to be a false start and stopped New York from tying the game.
