Manly will be looking to put the announcement of Geoff Toovey’s departure behind them when they meet competition front-runners Brisbane Broncos on the Central Coast.
The Sea Eagles, who sit 11th on the ladder, will face an in-form Broncos side looking for their ninth consecutive win.
Brisbane forward Adam Blair will miss the game through suspension and will be replaced by Jarrod Wallace. However, Jack Reed will return to the side after serving a one-week suspension.
Manly will be missing key players like centre Steve Matai, after he suffered a concussion against the Warriors last week.
Forwards Luke Burgess, Ligi Sao and Tom Symonds are all out with knee injuries. Youngsters Blake Leary, Justin Horo and Jesse-Sene Lefao will take their place.
With the match taking place at a neutral venue on the Central Coast, Manly’s captain Jamie Lyon encouraged as many fans as possible to go to the game.
“We’d love to see the local sports fans get behind us by coming to the game and give the Broncos a warm Central Coast welcome,” he said.
“The Broncos are on top of the ladder and feature a star studded line up of Queensland players. What better way to test yourself than by playing against the best in the competition.’’
Manly have a strong record at the Central Coast Stadium, winning their past 12 of 15 matches there. This will be the first time the two sides will play against each other at the ground. – Sam Pasfield
