Liverpool forward Daniel Sturridge has returned to training following a four month absence dating back to their 3-0 victory over Tottenham in August.
Sturridge is expected to be fit for Liverpool’s match against Crystal Palace at Anfield in November.
The 25-year-old netted 21 times for the Reds last season and will be a welcome return for Brendan Rodgers’ side who have lacked goals this season. New signings Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert alongside Fabio Borini have only netted two goals in 888 minutes of English Premier League football.
The England striker picked up a thigh strain during international duty in early September which caused him to miss six weeks of action. There were signs that Sturridge was close to a comeback in mid-October, however, the Liverpool forward pulled his calf during a training session at Melwood forcing him to miss another month. – Jake O’Brien
