Australia’s hopes of winning Wimbledon have come to end after Nick Kyrgios and Bernard Tomic bowed out in the fourth round.
Kyrgios was humbled by world number two Andy Murray 7-5, 6-1, 6-4 and has admitted he was “pretty pathetic” and a little bit “soft” playing the match. Kyrgios said, “To be honest, I woke up this morning and played computer games. Is that the greatest preparation? I don’t know. But it was fun.”
Murray will now head to the quarter finals and play Frenchman Jo Wilfred Tsonga tomorrow morning.
Tomic lost to Lucas Pouille in an epic five set encounter 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 4-6, 8-10. Pouille will enter the quarter finals and face Tomas Berdych after he won a five set match over fellow countryman Jiri Vesely.
