Kiwi International and former Melbourne Storm forward Kevin Proctor has signed a four-year deal with the Gold Coast Titans.
Proctor is a premiership winner for the Storm and will be a massive boost for the versatile forward pack of the Titans. Proctor replaces Greg Bird, who announced he will be off to France to play for the Catalans Dragons in the Super League.
Proctor said that the move was solely a family decision.
“This is a great opportunity to return home to the Gold Coast with my young family, to be closer to all of our family,” Proctor said.
Proctor has played 179 games for the Melbourne Storm since debuting in 2008. He has also played for New Zealand on 15 occasions.
Proctor acknowledged Melbourne had been good to him as the club worked through the tough times of the salary cap scandal that took away two premierships.
“It has been a long process and I needed to feel comfortable with the decision as I have had a successful time at the Melbourne Storm and made some great friends, but now I am looking forward to joining Neil and the Titans players and contributing to the team’s success.” – Jesse Mullens
