The greatest goal of all time may have just been scored.
Football fans around the world have flooded Twitter with praise for Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic after he scored a miraculous goal in Sweden’s 4-2 defeat of England overnight.
Ibrahimovic scored all four of his side’s goals, but his 90th minute effort will forever be remembered inside the walls of the Sweden’s new national stadium, the Friends Arena.
English keeper Joe Hart’s attempted header clearance backfired in spectacular fashion, when Ibrahimovic launched a 27-metre bicycle kick into the back of the net from well outside the box.
English captain Steven Gerrard was left in awe claiming after the match: “He scored one of the best goals I’ve ever seen.”
“Ibrahimovic” began trending on Twitter soon after. Fellow players and fans around the world tweeting their appreciation for footballing magic.
