The summer break is almost over but never fear, there’s one last outing for you to enjoy before you head back to college. Fancy a free night out at the movies?
The Macleay Newsroom has scored five double passes to Oscar contender Still Alice, starring Julianne Moore, which opens at cinemas around Australia on January 29.
Still Alice, based on the best-selling novel by Lisa Genova, reveals the confronting, compelling and challenging world of early-onset dementia. Julianne Moore has just won a Golden Globe for her role as Alice, a 50-year-old professor at Columbia University.
A gifted researcher and lecturer, wife and mother, she sets out one day for a run. Regular run, regular route, regular day – until she realises she has no idea how to find her way home. She is lost – a feeling that will only grow for her and those around her as medical testing confirms she has Alzheimer’s disease.
Still Alice has received rave reviews and standing ovations at film festivals, and is set to feature strongly in the awards season, possibly winning Moore her first Oscar. Also starring are Alec Baldwin, Kristen Stewart, Hunter Parrish and Kate Bosworth.
Everyone gets a chance to win one of the five double passes each worth $35 to regular screenings of Still Alice during the national release period (some conditions apply to showtimes etc).
To enter the draw just send an email to email@example.com, with the words “still alice” in the subject line. All students and graduates are welcome to enter. Get your email in by 23.59 on January 23. Winners will be drawn on Jan 24 and double passes posted on Monday 26, in time for the general release on January 29.
