The Shield and Evolution set to do battle
After last month’s classic between WWE’s biggest factions, fans were ecstatic that The Shield and Evolution would have a rematch, but this time in a six-man elimination tag team match. In a no-holds-barred match there are no rules, no disqualifications, and falls count anywhere. When a wrestler is pinned, he is eliminated and must go to the locker room. The rivalry behind this match started the night after Wrestlemania 30 and escalated at the WWE Extreme Rules event when the Shield defeated Evolution in a six-man tag match. The rematch will be a rollercoaster.
What will Cena do?
For the first time in his 12-year career, John Cena may not be able to overcome his opponent. Bray Wyatt and his family have taken over the WWE since their debut back in August 2013, and they may have got inside the head of WWE’s biggest superstar of the last 10 years. At Extreme Rules last month, Bray defeated Cena in a steel cage match by getting an eight-year-old boy to distract Cena while Bray walked out the door to win the match. The rule of a last man standing match is that to win, you must keep your opponent down for a 10 count. This match has the potential to steal the show.
The title or the girl?
At Wrestlemania 30, Daniel Bryan reached the top of the wrestling business by winning the WWE World Heavyweight title. Now he is on the shelf with a neck injury that could keep him out of the ring for the next month. WWE rules say a wrestler must defend his title at least once a month, so Bryan must make a choice at Payback. Either he forfeits the title or his wife Brie Bella will be fired from the WWE. This is the first time since December 2012 that the WWE Championship will not be defended at a WWE event.
