From failed celebrity iSpy to Amy Schumer, who isn’t all that water sporty, Kezia Dawn covers the latest on this week’s social media scene.
#RecogniseMe
Before I start I need to make it very clear… if you see a celebrity, or ANYONE who looks like one… make sure they know you saw them. This week things got a little messy and some Uber drivers got burnt when they didn’t recognise Lorde or Ellie Goulding as their passengers.
To be fair I would assume such well-known celebrities would have private cars or some other means of transport, so the girls should probably cut the drivers some slack. However Lorde kicked things off via Twitter with these posts before Ellie joined in to highlight how one of her band members was apparently more recognisable to her Uber driver… but he didn’t like her music anyway so who cares? OUCH!
@lorde Mine said he had someone from Ellie Gouldings band in earlier. But didn’t like her music soooo.

i can tell our ride, by comparison, sparkles significantly less for him

i can feel it from the back seat, his dazed glow. he’s probably now pretending that i am not here, that they are still together, and alone

I would wince too but, hey, I ain’t that famous.

With over 11 million views already, this take of Rachel Platten’s Fight Song, put together by Elizabeth Banks and some of her friends for the Democratic National Convention, is taking the internet by storm. The video was posted by Banks in support of Hillary Clinton in the upcoming US Election in November.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll know Clinton is going up against Donald Trump in what is shaping up to be the election of the century. If Clinton takes it out she will become the first female president of the United States.

Matt Damon is on a roll promoting his new Jason Bourne movie, which involved hamming it up on The Jimmy Fallon Show last night. This video has since gone viral proving that Damon, for all he is a famous actor, can neither hold a straight face while lying nor pick a lie, at all.
The new movie features Damon alongside Julia Stiles and came out in cinemas yesterday, July 28. Make sure you check it out!

The trailer for the Gilmore Girls Netflix special was released this week, resulting in a discussion about who Amy Schumer would, and wouldn’t, like. More specifically if she would like Lorelai. To which Rory obviously shut her down because of something about Amy liking “water sports”.
Water sports? Amy? There was that one photo like a year ago of her with Jennifer Lawrence on a jet ski but let’s be real here.
Schumer was quick to take to Twitter to oppose the assumed dislike and re-establish the truth.

#RIPTaylorSwift
By now you should be pretty damn sick of hearing about the blonde pop star who spiralled down into a pit and is now assumed dead. I’m talking about Taylor Swift of course.
It started with her break up from Calvin Harris, which turned out to be a sprint into Tom Hiddleston’s arms, then there was the Kanye feud, with Kim leaking the video of her agreeing to that one-liner in Kanye’s song, then the “RIP Taylor Swift’ shirt, and the endless memes, then the assumed pregnancy bombshell… oh and of course that beautiful mural in Melbourne.
It now seems like Instagram has fought back for Taylor… The social media platform has deleted the account of artist Doug Stan Hope aka @lushsux who posted the mural painted in the popular city to commemorate the metaphoric death of the pop sensation’s fame.
We hope you work it out soon, or use @lushsux2 to keep the postings up. We all thoroughly enjoy seeing them!
But for now, have a great weekend! Don’t party too hard without me. – Kezia Dawn
