Halloween is here, a new movie trailer and could bacon kill you?
#Halloweek is here
One more sleep until it’ll be socially acceptable to hold a pitchfork and send your kids begging for candy from strangers. Halloween is quickly approaching, but not quickly enough for the roaring beast that is our internet.
#Halloweek was born from the premature parties and costumes that have flooded our newsfeed of late. And now that the likes of Facebook and Instagram have left us open to praise and scrutiny, people are putting in their best.
Super model Chrissy Teigen is almost unrecognisable dressed as American TV personality Guy Fieri.
After GQ shared her photo, a Twitter troll left a comment insulting the mum-to-be.
Read tweets below to see how it unfolded.

Maybe @FindKony would be more accepting if Chrissy dressed in traditional Halloween attire… over-sexualised in every sense.
To pay or not to pay?
Former Star Trek actor Wil Wheaten has slammed the Huffington Post for not paying their contributors in a post on his personal blog. The post was fuelled by a disagreement the actor had with the newspaper over permission to republish his work without compensation.
In the post Mr Wheaten expresses his frustration over the fact that major media publications are taking advantage of desperate people—and instead of paying them, are offering them a platform to display their work. This is becoming a trend in the industry, with more and more publications opting for free material from aspiring journalists .
The actor also reached out to people on Twitter to urge them to take pride in their work and demand the appropriate recognition.
Since it was founded in 2005 the Huffington Post has held the policy of not paying for work contributed by freelance writers, or as they call them “bloggers”.
#SpringValleyHigh goes viral
It’s the video that stunned a global audience. US police officer Ben Fields was captured violently throwing a female high school student onto the ground before dragging her out of class.
Students who caught the footage were quick to share it across social media platforms, where it then became headline news around the world.
As a result Deputy Fields lost his job.

A bulk of disturbed viewers continued circulating the video in a bid to highlight the problem of police brutality in the United States.
On the flip-side, there are many whose concerns lay with the video’s bias standpoint.
Today the #springvalleyhigh incident has become more than a raw glimpse into a hidden reality. It’s the talk topic that reveals how we interpret authority and whether or not we feel safe within its grasp.
Sizzle over meat study
A recent report released by the World Health Organisation has revealed that eating certain meats could increase the risk of cancer. According to experts eating a 50 gram daily portion of processed meats such as bacon, ham and sausages, increases your risk of colorectal cancer by 18 per cent.
Each year the average American consumes over 8kg of bacon, more than any other processed meat. Following the release of the report the #FreeBacon began trending on social media, as bacon lovers took to Twitter to pledge their support for the greasy food.
Processed meats weren’t the only foods under the microscope in the study with red meat also being linked to prostate and pancreatic cancer.
Dirty trailer for Dirty Grandpa
The trailer for the upcoming comedy Dirty Grandpa has just been released, and ‘dirty’ is an appropriate part of the title.
The film centres around a soon to be married man, played by Zac Efron, and his sexually charged grandpa, portrayed by Robert De Niro. The trailer gives an indication as to just how raunchy the film will be. In one scene De Niro is seen dry humping former Parks and Recreation star Aubrey Plazza, who is 41 years his junior. The reaction was big on social media as fans gave their views on the trailer.
Fans of Zac Efron will be happy as the actor appears shirtless throughout the trailer. Something which we have come to expect when watching him in a movie, and it never gets old. — Compiled by Daniel Stringer and Jessica Ankomah
