The Tim Tam face lift…
What’s It All About?
50 years ago the Tim Tam biscuit was first launched to the Australian masses. Consequently, the biscuit became a treasured part of Australian’s collective taste buds, joining the esteemed food based ranks of national treasures such as Vegemite and Milo. To celebrate their 50th anniversary, the expected gift is gold, but the good people at Arnott’s have gone an alternate route, deciding to gift its biscuits (and its customers) with a face lift via Adriano Zumbo, pastry chef extraordinaire.
The good bits
No better gift was possible. Where there once was just chocolate, biscuit and chocolate cream, there is now the perfect marriage of sweet and savoury in salted caramel. Perhaps if you are after a slight tang to your biscuit there are white chocolate and raspberry available and the ever twist on the traditional brownie. As an added bonus, a snack pack of these unique flavors will set you back a mere $1.69.
The not-so-good bits
Over time the flavours can wear thin and become a little too sweet. You may be left hankering for the days of plain old chocolate Tim Tams.
