Having secured big-name acts such as Arctic Monkeys, Tame Impala, and Florence and the Machine in the past, the Splendour in the Grass lineup has seen fans praising the festival through social media.
Notable international names performing at this year’s festival include legendary rock band The Cure as well as returnerees The Strokes.
The lineup includes home-grown acts including Flume, The Preatures, Courtney Barnett, Sticky Fingers, and The Avalanches who are playing their first show in 15 years.
The full line-up can be seen on the official website.
The Strokes at @SITG 2010 was such a great show. Plus the Cure, I might have to make it 7 #Splendour years in a row ☀️🎪🎤

“Splendour is the closest thing that we have to Glastonbury or Coachella,” regular festival-goer Matt Bradley told The Newsroom. “It’s spread over a whole weekend and it actually has artists worth the ticket price.”
“I love Byron Bay and I love Splendour,” said music fan Jason Zappia. “It’s my favourite time of year… I’m most excited to see Courtney Barnett.”
Splendour organisers have promised to please their target demographic.
“From Friday July 22 to Sunday July 24, the green fields of North Byron Parklands will once again become a mecca for music and arts fans as the 16th annual Splendour In The Grass Music and Arts Festival plays host to over 100 acts across The Amphitheatre, Mix Up, GW Mclennan and Tiny Dancer stages,” the website boasts.
Tickets go on sale 9am AEST next Thursday, April 21, and can be bought from Splendour’s website. – Jameel Khan
