Is Gold Class all it’s cracked up to be?
Over the weekend, my boyfriend and I decided to indulge in this so called ‘glorious’ experience.
As part of the experience you are advised to show up half an hour early. Upon arrival you are greeted with bright lights, a red carpet and well-groomed people, who give you a menu.
Depending on the kind of person you are, it doesn’t take long to order. For my boyfriend and I, it took about 5 – 10 minutes. We ordered French fries $10.50, bruschetta $13.50 and a ham and pineapple pizza $20. Yeah, we’re fat.
After playing on our phones for 20 minutes and sitting on reasonably comfortable chairs, we entered the cinema. The chairs were big and comfortable, I could’ve easily fallen asleep on them.
About 20 minutes into the movie, we were served our food… Now for $44, you would expect a decent sized meal… no, we had 5 pocket-sized pieces of pizza, 2 pieces of bruschetta that were the size of a coin purse and the French fries were basically a large McDonald’s serving. Yeah, we ate after.
So would I go back? Maybe for the comfy chairs, but that’s it. For $44 I could go to a restaurant or eat at home before hand – at least then I would be satisfied and full.
