Mercedes Corby is sueing the AFP over its attempts to thwart a paid media interview with her sister Schapelle.
The action follows Channel Seven’s launch of proceedings against the AFP over raids intended to find proof of the alleged deal.
A first hearing in both cases was scheduled in Federal Court this afternoon. Justice Jayne Jagot will hear Seven’s case alongside that of Ms Corby.
Thirty four AFP officers searched Seven’s headquarters last week with a warrant to seize documents relating to the supposed $3 million the network offered the convicted drug smuggler for an exclusive “tell all” interview.
Schapelle Corby has lived in a luxury Bali villa at Seven’s expense since her release on parole earlier this month.
