McDonald’s Canada introduces a vegetarian wrap leaving Australians to chew the fat.
Despite the fact that Australia has more overweight people than its Commonwealth counterpart, the fast-food giant has chosen the healthier nation for the meat-free wraps, where they are more likely to sell.
The wraps, offered alongside salad, fruit or vegetables, offer a healthier alternatives to burgers and fries.
“People always ask for the veggie burger. So this we’re going to surprise them with,” McDonald’s Canada CEO John Betts told Canada’s National Post.
According to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, 1 in 2 Australians are overweight or obese, compared with 1 in 4 that are overweight or obese in Canada. – Bianca Mureddu
