Four-time premiership player Jordan Lewis has made a shock move in the AFL, deciding to leave Hawthorn for the Melbourne Demons. The 30-year-old inside midfielder was traded for draft picks 48 and 66, and now has a three-year contract with the Demons.
When asked about his move to cross-town rivals, Lewis talked about how thankful he is to Hawthorn for the opportunities they have given him.
‘’I am truly grateful for everything that Hawthorn has done for myself and my family, I will never forget the memories we achieved together as a club.’’
Lewis was unveiled as a Melbourne recruit on Tuesday afternoon at a press conference run by the club.
‘’I’m really looking forward to the challenge. We have a lot of work to do but from what I know, and from what I have seen firsthand, the players seem up for the fight and I can’t wait to get to work at the club,’’ he said.
