America’s favourite yellow couple, Homer and Marge Simpson, are set to go there separate ways on The Simpsons’ first episode of the upcoming 27th season. Executive producer, Al Jean, confirmed that pair will have a legalised separation after Homer develops narcolepsy placing a new strain on the marriage. Mr Jean also revealed that Girls star Lena Dunham will join the show as a pharmacist and a new love interest for Homer. However, a tweet by the Simpsons official account has said to “stop the rumours” with a picture also being posted of Bart writing on the school chalkboard: ‘Homer and Marge are not breaking up’.
Sir Christopher Lee dead at 93
Sir Christopher Lee, best known for his infamous role as Count Dracula, has died at the age 93 from a heart attack. He was known for playing many villainous characters throughout his illustrious career including Saruman in The Lord of The Rings trilogy and Scaramanga in the James Bond film The Man with the Golden Gun. Many actors and directors who had worked with Lee have come out to express their grief including director Tim Burton who said Lee was a true legend. Burton worked with Lee on five films including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Alice in Wonderland and Sleepy Hollow.
Hemsworth joins all female Ghostbusters cast
Chris Hemsworth has joined the predominately female cast of the new Ghostbusters. Hemsworth is the only male so far to join this cast which includes Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon. Hemsworth was previously approached by Sony for this role but had turned them down allegedly for its insignificance. In order to get Hemsworth on board, the script was reworked to make the role more apparent in the film. The Ghostbusters reboot is set to be released in the middle of 2016 with production starting later in this year.
Third Pitch Perfect movie announced
Barden University is set to make a comeback to the big screen with Pitch Perfect 3 officially announced. After Pitch Perfect 2 made more than $250 million dollars at the global box office, a follow up including Elizabeth Banks is highly likely. The actress is said to be “thinking about it very seriously”. It is not known yet whether Anna Kendrick and the rest of the Barden Bellas would return for the new film.
