New Swans player Lance “Buddy” Franklin will make his debut for the Sydney Swans tonight against West Coast in Blacktown. After missing the Swans huge victory over Greater Western Sydney last week, Franklin will run on to the field in red and white for the first time.
The nearly two metre tall forward will join players including Lewis Jetta and Mike Pyke to play this round. Co-captains Kieren Jack and Jarrad McVeigh are among the omissions from the squad set to play tonight.
Franklin fronted a press conference in October revealing that he had signed with the Swans for a $10 million contract, the biggest that the sport had ever seen. Franklin said his decision was motivated by his desire to win.
“At the end of the day I wanted to come to a club where I could win more premierships,” he said.
