Brad Arthur has been announced as Parramatta Eels coach.
Arthur, who was Manly’s assistant coach, will replace Ricky Stuart in the 2014 season.
Jason Taylor was all but confirmed to get the top job after a board meeting last week. The board voted 3-2 in favour of Taylor, however in a remarkable turn of events Arthur got the nod.
The Parramatta junior signed a three year contract, bringing his time with the Sea Eagles to an end. Arthur was previously an assistant coach at Parramatta, before taking over as interim coach for the final six games of 2012.
“To return as a head coach in an area and a club where I played football as a young man is extremely humbling and very exciting,” Arthur said. – Luke Mahoney
