The 28th annual Italian Festa on Norton Street will take place this Sunday from 10am – 5pm.
The street festival will feature 240 jewellery, food, souvenir and entertainment stalls.
Enzo Guarino, MC of the Festa cooking stage, said, “This year will be a spectacular tasting treat for lovers of Italian food. In addition to our great local Italian chefs Paolo Gatto and Christian Colognesi who will cook regional Italian dishes from all over Italy, Luke and Scott of My Kitchen Rules 2013 fame will demonstrate Italian food ‘clean living’ style.
“Silvia Colloca from upcoming Made in Italy on SBS will treat us to a family favourite dish from Abruzzo, and Pina Pacialeo of ‘Pina Cucina’ YouTube fame will showcase the food of her region of Calabria,” he said.
Marjorie Anderson of the Italian Festa Committee told The Newsroom, “It’s a fabulous day in Sydney’s ‘Little Italy’. Italian’s who have come say that it’s just like wondering the streets in Italy, you get a real Italian feel and flavour.”
There will also be hundreds of Italian-made cars, old and new, on show. Ms Anderson said, “It’s a great day for families to wander through, Granddad’s can show their grandkids the car they owned when they were young.”
This year there are two tickets to either Rome or Milan, round trip with Cathay Pacific Airways to be won.
People also go in the running to win a seven day Mediterranean Cruise from MSC Cruises and an escorted tour in Tuscany or Rome by Perfect Traveller.
