Melbourne Victory 3-0 Western Sydney Wanderers
The Western Sydney Wanderers were dealt with a humiliating 3-0 defeat at the hands of Melbourne Victory on Saturday night. Melbourne found themselves in the lead quickly in the 26th minute, thanks to Oliver Bozanic who pounced on a back pass from Artiz Borda. Jai Ingham added to Victory’s lead in the 64th minute when he was on the receiving end of a Fahid Ben Khallafah cross. Victory’s new German import Max Beister rounded off the rout in the 84th minute with a simple tap-in to seal the deal.
Sydney FC 4-1 Perth Glory
Sydney FC capped off their 6th consecutive win of the season with a dominant 4-1 win over Perth Glory on Sunday. Milos Ninkovic opened the scoring for Sydney in the 14th minute after he capitalised from Alex Grant’s defensive mishap to give his side the lead. Sydney’s marquee man Bobo doubled the sky blues lead with a cool tap-in on the stroke of half-time. The Glory clawed their way back into the game thanks to a Rhyan Grant own-goal in the 62nd minute. Graham Arnold’s men rounded off the match after Milos Ninkovic capped off his brace and captain Alex Brosque sealed the deal in the 88th minute. – Ben Owusu
